1. Lương Huệ Trinh

After studying at Vietnam National Academy of Music since 1998 at age 13, LUONG Hue Trinh received her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Keyboard in 2010. In 2003, she was awarded as Exceptional
Student by Yamaha Music Foundation, Japan.

In 2010, she began to work in electroacoustic music under the guidance of Vietnamese composer SonX and was strongly influenced by his music. She
participated shortly in the hub of experimental music Domdom in 2013. From 2015 to 2018, she got a full DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service scholarship for the program New Technique in
Composition and then for the Master’s program in Multimedia Composition with Prof. Dr. Georg Hajdu and Prof. Elmar Lampson at Hochschule für Musik & Theater Hamburg.

Her works were broadcast on radio in Thailand, India, Czech Republic, Australia, Scotland, England and highlighted as Artist of the Month on StillStream Radio, USA (2013). Her interview and music were on Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in 2014 & 2015. Her performance in Mikromusik Festival (2018), Berlin was on Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Germany. Besides that, Trinh received
composing commissions for exhibitions, as well as performing in major festivals and concerts in Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan,Turkey, Denmark,
Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Germany... She was invited as a creator in Echoes (2014)-a “geolocative” audio project in Hanoi-Copenhagen & workshop in Roskilde University. Her music was
in Wenjack (2016)-an audio book for disabled people, published by The National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS), Toronto and many other events.

Her pieces were in the compilation Art of The Muses (2012) featuring 10 female composers from Far East Asia published by label Syrphe and in album Synthesis Vol. 1 (2014) containing sound works by international female composers by Urban Arts Berlin. Illusions – her first album was released by label Pan y Rosas, Chicago. It had a review and was on the list of the Best of 2016 – Albums of The Year by Avant Music News, San Francisco, USA.

Bắt đầu theo học tại Học viện âm nhạc quốc gia Việt Nam năm 1998 khi mới 13 tuổi, đến năm 2010 Lương Huệ Trinh nhận bằng cử nhân chuyên ngành Jazz Keyboard. Năm 2003, cô đạt học bổng Sinh viên xuất sắc của Hiệp hội âm nhạc Yamaha.

Năm 2010, cô tập trung làm việc với âm nhạc điện tử dưới sự hướng dẫn của nhạc sỹ SonX và có sự ảnh hưởng mạnh mẽ từ của anh. Cô đã tham gia khóa học ngắn tại trung tâm âm nhạc thể nghiệm Domdom năm 2013. Từ năm 2015 đến 2018, cô nhận học bổng toàn phần DAAD – chương trình trao đổi Hàn lâm do chính phủ Đức tài trợ cho chương trình Kỹ thuật sáng tác mới, tiếp theo là chương trình thạc sỹ cho ngành Sáng tác âm nhạc đa phương tiện, dưới sự bảo trợ của giáo sư Georg Hajdu và giáo sư Elmar Lampson tại trường Đại học âm nhạc và Kịch nghệ Hamburg.

Các sáng tác của Trinh đã được phát trên các đài phát thanh ở Thái Lan, Ấn Độ, Cộng hòa Séc, Úc, Scotland, Anh và là điểm nhấn trong chương trình Nghệ sỹ của tháng trên radio Stillstream, Mỹ (2013). Đài phát thanh truyền hình quốc gia Na Uy có cuộc phỏng vấn và giới thiệu âm nhạc của cô năm 2014 và 2015. Buổi biểu diễn tại Mikromusik Festival, Berlin của Trinh đã được phát trên chương trình văn hóa của Đài phát thanh Đức năm 2018.

Bên cạnh đó, cô đã nhận nhiều đặt hàng sáng tác cho các triển lãm, cũng như biểu diễn trong các hòa nhạc và festival lớn tại Việt Nam, Thái Lan, Indonesia, Philippines, Campuchia, Malaysia, Trung Quốc, Nhật Bản, Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ, Đan Mạch, Thụy Điển, Na Uy, Iceland và Đức... Dự án âm thanh địa lý Echoes (2014) tại Hanoi-Copenhagen & workshop tại Đại học Roskilde. Nhạc của cô được sử dụng trong cuốn sách âm thanh Wenjack (2016) dành cho người khuyết tật, phát hành bởi hệ thống thư viện quốc gia Canada tại Toronto và nhiều dự án khác.

Các tác phẩm của Trinh trong album Art of The Muses (2012) với sự tham gia của 10 nữ nhạc sỹ của Đông Á, phát hành bởi hãng Syrphe/ album Synthesis Vol. 1 (2014) gồm các sáng tác của các nhạc sỹ nữ quốc tế, phát hành bởi Urban Arts Berlin. Illusions – album đầu tiên của cô được do hãng Pan y Rosas, Chicago phát hành với bài bình luận của tạp chí âm nhạc uy tín Avant Music News, San Francisco – Mỹ và lọt vào danh sách "Những Album Hay Nhất của Năm 2016" do tạp chí này bình chọn.

2. Hà Thúy Hằng
Having learned to play the piano since the age of 12. After graduating with honors majoring in piano studies (2006), Hang continued to receive professional education, graduating from the Vietnam National Academy of Music (2014) majoring in Musicology.

During her studies and work, she has performed in Vietnam, Italy, Germany, Malta, South Korea, etc. and received numerous national and international awards: Copper Medal at the Geyeongnam International Choir Festival (2009); Silver Medal at the International Choir Competition at Association A (2011); Gold Medal in Folk Music Category and Audience’s Favorite Special Award at the 7th International Choir Festival, Johannes Brahms in Wernigerode, Germany (2011); Gold Medal and Audience’s Selection Special Award at the 10th Brahms International Choir Festival in Germany (2017).

With a strong desire to find her personal voice in music, in recent years, Ha Thuy Hang has developed a special interest in Vietnamese traditional music. She has begun to learn about contemporary music under the guidance of experts from Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, and is one of the most outstanding students at Domdom Center for Contemporary Music.

Ha Thuy Hang was selected by the British Council as one of seven young Vietnamese artists to participate in the Famlab 2018 project, a Film, Archive and Musical Lab heritage project through contemporary expressions. Besides, she was invited as one among Vietnamese emerging artists to perform in the opening performance of Hanoi New Music Festival 2018 with a focus on Southeast Asian contemporary and experimental music festival. She currently running the project called "The Future of Tradition", an art project sponsored FAMLAB - British Council (which will last for 6 months starting from Nov 2018 to June 2019). The project is aimed at young people interested in the preservation and development of traditional culture and the arts.

Học piano từ khi 12 tuổi, cô được đào tạo chính quy và tốt nghiệp đại học chuyên nghành Âm nhạc học tại Học Viện Âm nhạc Quốc gia Việt Nam (2014).Trong quá trình học tập và làm việc cô đã tham gia biểu diễn tại Việt nam, Đức, Italia, Malta, Hàn Quốc.... và đoạt nhiều giải thưởng lớn trong nước và quốc tế: Huy chương Đồng Festival Hợp xướng quốc tế Gyeongnam, Hàn Quốc( 2009); Huy chương Bạc cuộc thi Hợp xướng quốc tế tại Hội Anh (2011); Huy chương Vàng bảng thi dân gian, giải Đặc biệt Yêu thích do công chúng bình chọn, Festival Hợp xướng quốc tế, Johannes Brahms lần thứ 7, tại Wernigerode, CHLB Đức (2011); Huy chương Vàng cuộc thi Hợp xướng quốc tế tại Huế (2012); Huy chương Vàng, giải Đặc biệt do khán giả bình chọn tại Liên hoan Hợp xướng Quôc tế Brahms lần thứ 10 tại Đức ( 2017).

Với khát khao đi tìm cho mình một tiếng nói riêng trong âm nhạc, Hằng dấn thân vào âm nhạc đương đại với các chuyên gia đến từ Thụy điển, Đan mạch, Đức. Là một trong những sinh viên xuất sắc của Domdom (Trung tâm đào tạo Âm nhạc đương đại). Cô là một trong số 7 nghệ sĩ trẻ của Việt Nam được Hội Đồng Anh lựa chọn tham gia dự án Famlab 2018 - Dự án Di sản Kết nối Nhạc và Phim thông qua các phương thức biểu đạt đương đại. Là một gương mặt trẻ được mời tham gia biểu diễn trong khuôn khổ Liên hoan âm nhạc Đông Nam Á - Ha noi new Music Festival. Hà thúy Hằng hiện đang điều hành Dự án Tương lai của Truyền thống, một dự án được bảo trợ của Quỹ Famlab- Hội đồng Anh. Dự án nhằm hướng tới sự phát triển của văn hóa truyền thống kết nối đương đại, với sự tham gia của các nghệ nhân truyền thống với những nghệ sỹ đương đại Việt nam trong nhiều loại hình, nhạc,phim, trình diễn, sắp đặt, video art....
Cùng nhóm nghệ sĩ của mình, cô đã tổ chức sản xuất tác phẩm music theatre “Hai Nàng Nguyệt Cô” của nhạc sỹ SonX, tác phẩm ra mắt lần đầu tiên tại Hanoi New Music Festival 12/2018. Trong quá trình thực hành nghệ thuật, Hằng luôn đi tìm cái đương đại nằm chính trong sự cổ kính của âm nhạc truyền thống và từ đó đưa vào thử nghiệm với các tác phẩm của mình. Sáng tạo cách chơi ngẫu hứng ứng tác với chất liệu từ âm nhạc và các nhạc cụ truyền thống Việt Nam kết hợp với âm nhạc điện tử và âm nhạc mới.

Tiny Giant

Tiny Giant is a Hanoi-based live music duo featuring the deep vocal musings of LinhHafornow and the electronic sounds of tomes. Their music combines live beat production and layers of vocal looping. Through digital manipulation of organic elements, the band blend traditional tonality with contemporary sonic environments.

Vocal loops / lyrical melodies / organic elements: Linh Hà

A German-born Vietnamese national, Linh Hà weaves vocal ambient soundscapes with her solo project LinhHafornow. Linh Hà's irrepressible versatility allows her to reach for new emotional dimensions with each breath. With a 'loopstation', an electronic device, she uses multiple microphones to capture her voice and a variety of traditional instruments. Fronting Tiny Giant she unleashes a new level of her dynamic range, and immerses audiences with her open, sincere approach.

Growing up in rural Australia Tobias Paramore wandered the streets of his hometown, strumming an acoustic guitar and shyly humming 90's pop-punk jams. In his early 20s he explored avant-garde electronica, heavyweight vintage dub, and sample-based golden-era hip hop, all of which shaped a new understanding of texture, rhythm, and harmony. Constructing musical elements only with hardware units (including samplers, and digital and analog synthesisers) tomes throws down live solo sets that keep dance floors sizzling and get crowds moving. As the creator of the backdrops that support Linh Hà's compositions, he works to create mesmeric patchworks of samples, digital arpeggios and smooth sub-bass.

With every show they aim to conjure a spectrum of emotions, leading listeners on an audiovisual journey through new and hypnotic states.

Tiny Giant là cặp đôi nghệ sỹ làm việc tại Hà Nội với sử dụng giọng ca nhiều biến thiên của LinhHafornow và những thanh âm điện tử của Tomes. m nhạc của họ kết nối giữa những beat điện tử chơi live và những lớp giọng hát chồng lên nhau. Thông qua sự xử lý, can thiệp của cả âm thanh điện tử lẫn âm thanh hữu cơ/sống, nhóm nhạc này pha trộn giữa âm giọng truyền thống với không gian âm thanh đương đại.

Vocal/Giai điệu/các yếu tố “hữu cơ”: Linh Hà

Sinh ra ở Đức và mang quốc tịch Việt Nam, Linh Hà đan dệt những âm thanh của giọng ca trong không gian của nhạc điện tử - thể hiện qua dự án solo LinhHafornow. Sự nhạy cảm rung ngân của Linh Hà cho phép cô đạt đến những chiều cảm xúc đa dạng qua từng hơi thở. Cô sử dụng một thiết bị xử lý âm thanh gọi là “loop station” và nhiều microphone khác nhau để ghi lại giọng ca và âm thanh từ nhạc cụ truyền thống. Khi tham gia Tiny Giant cô đạt đến một cấp độ mới của âm nhạc đa chiều và qua đó thu phục khán giả bằng sự cởi mở, chân thành của mình.

Lớn lên ở vùng hẻo lánh của Australia, Tobias Paramore lang thang trên các đường phố quê nhà với chiếc đàn guitar mộc và hát một cách bẽn lẽn trong các buổi chơi nhạc pop-punk của những năm 1990s. Đầu những năm tuổi 20 anh bắt đầu khám phá nhạc điện tử avant-garde (tiên phong), heavyweight vintage dub và các mẫu âm thanh hip hop của thời hoàng kim. Tất cả đã giúp anh hình thành hiểu biết về cấu tạo, nhịp điệu, và sự hài hòa trong âm nhạc. Tạo ra âm nhạc chỉ với các mẫu âm và công cụ trộn nhạc điện tử, Tomes bắt đầu có các buổi diễn solo khiến cho khán thính giả nhún nhảy. Là người tạo ra “phông nền” cho các sáng tạo của Linh Hà, anh kiến tạo một không khí thôi miên từ các mẫu âm, sự dễ chịu của sub-bass và các hợp âm điện tử.

Ở tất cả các buổi diễn nhóm Tiny Giant muốn tạo ra một dải rộng của cảm xúc, dẫn dắt người nghe đi qua chuyến hành trình nghe nhìn mê hoặc và mới mẻ.

Jet Ilagan
Jett Ilagan is a music producer, sound, and visual artist from the Philippines. His audio works revolves around the exploration of sound to emphasize cultural soundscapes through the use of field recordings and through personal encounters with people and environment.

One of his projects titled 'Audio Tour', is a project that makes use of soundwalk as a means of guiding the listeners and inciting them to look at a specific location through a different sense of the body aside from sight: hearing. He actively performs original musical soundscapes under the moniker of ‘escuri’.

Jett Ilagan là nhà sản xuất âm nhạc, âm thanh và nghệ sĩ thị giác đến từ Philippines. Các tác phẩm của anh xoay quanh việc khám phá âm thanh để nhấn mạnh bối cảnh văn hóa thông qua việc sử dụng các bản ghi âm hiện trường (field recordings) và thông qua các cuộc gặp gỡ cá nhân với con người và môi trường.
Một trong những dự án của anh có tựa đề 'Audio Tour', sử dụng cách thức “nghe dạo” như một phương tiện để hướng dẫn người nghe và khuyến khích họ nhìn vào một vị trí cụ thể thông qua một giác quan khác của cơ thể, bên cạnh việc cảm nhận qua thị giác: thính giác. Anh ấy tích cực trình diễn các âm thanh có nhạc tính gốc dưới biệt danh “escuri”.

Nguyen Thuy Dung
Studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music from 2004 and received her diploma in 2012.

Received a scholarship from the Kumho Asian Cultural Foundation from 2008 to 2012 and was awarded a scholarship for outstanding students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music from 2004 to 2012.

Was a member of the Vietnam National Traditional Orchestra (VNTO) from 2009 to 2012, performing at the Hanoi Opera House - Vietnam, Vientianne - Laos and was a member of đàn Tranh ensemble ‘Suoi Tranh’ which performed in various places in Vietnam, China and Thailand.

Has worked in both traditional and new music fields and cooperated with composers such as famous French – Vietnamese composer Nguyen Thien Dao, Tran Kim Ngoc, British composer Joshua Kopecek, Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Fyfe Dangerfield (The Guillemots, UK) and Vu Nhat Tan. Since graduating, she has collaborated with many Vietnamese and International musicians. Her stage persona, Melody #57, a contemporaryCa Trù group, performed at the Hanoi New Music Festival 2013, supportedLes Siestes Electroniquesin Hanoi and was filmed by Vincent Moon, a French director, film-maker and ethnographer (2013).

Performed in Germany and several places in Vietnam for the Hanoi - Berlin Experimental music meeting (2016), Jazz festival in Copenhagen (2016).
Attended Dance and Music Summer Camp (2018) as an experimental musician by Goethe Institute.
